I went to see Stephen last week with a very nasty infected blister on my foot, I felt a bit embarrassed that I had let it get so bad before asking for an appointment. Stephen burst the blister and cleaned it up and it immediately felt much better. He dressed the wound and gave me some extras in case the chemist didn't have them in stock and prescribed antibiotics. I left with advice on how to care for it to prevent it becoming an ulcer. I returned to the surgery today and saw a different nurse but Stephen popped in to check on how it was healing. I'm happy to say my foot is very much on the mend, much quicker than I expected it to be. I would be happy to see Stephen for any other ailments and would recommend him to anybody. Friendly treatment and never felt rushed ! Thank you.

Professional demeanour, clearly spoken, considerate and patient. I was more thoroughly checked than by previous doctors. Mr. Ward listened closely and answered appropriately, even repeating details until I understood. Mr. Ward gave reasons for the course of medication I was to receive and he suggested follow-up treatment. I left the surgery reassured by the thoroughness and competence of Mr. Ward’s work.

I started seeing stephen around 4 months ago. I only went to the appointment as my Mother had forced me to go to. I have had mental health issues all through my life. I've had very negative experiences in the past with GP’s I have always felt they look down their noses at me and can't relate to me. Stephen changed that opinion. He “got me” on the same level me on a level and didn't patronise me. He made me feel normal. I had tried to hang myself that morning before seeing Stephen. He was amazingly understanding. He didn't rush me, I was with him for over an hour and he had other patients waiting. He called an Ambulance and got me seen by the crisis team straight away. They discharged me “back to see my GP” I then started to see him every week. He was shocked that the MH nurse discharged me. He contacted the Consultant Psychiatrist on their mobile team and got me seen within a week. He started me on antidepressants and an anti anxiety medication. He reassured me that it was okay not to be okay. I felt so silly about wasting his time with my problems. He told me “Mental health is just as important as physical health” He made me feel normal and not like a crazy ass bitch ( thi is how I felt). I saw him regularly, he taught me all the skills to help myself feel better. He recommended apps, websites and a self help book called Mind over mood. 4 months later I feel like myself again. Okay I take medications and have therapy but I feel human again and like I have a purpose!! I will never forget how Stephen made me feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you in your work. You are a natural healer.
